OK, that progression seems consistent with my test runs the other day. I'll probably some legitimate tests on console to get an accurate frame-time converter.

That would be appreciated! I don't have an Emerald cart myself. Hopefully console RNG advancement will be pretty consistent. If you can give me a few benchmarks in the 7700-8500 range when the player's standing by the bag, I can write a pretty good estimation.

Did some testing today. Frame to time conversion might be more difficult than I thought, because the RNG doesn't advance as fast once you reach the Mudkip bag (it just becomes a steady 1 frame at a time). So the formula should be something like this:

t = b + ((f - a)/59.73)

t = time
f = desired frame number
a = frame number when you reach the Mudkip bag
b = (a / average frame rate during the first a frames)

However, my results in testing weren't entirely consistent with this. More testing is definitely needed, but I might be on the wrong track with my formula.

Not sure if you updated this one, but squirtle IV ranges do not seem fine. Tool is telling me a 5 IV attack squirtle should have 9 attack in a neutral nature, but squirtle has 10 attack from 4 to 23 IV.

So, I finally got around to fixing the Mudkip predictor, cause it bugged me that it didn't work.

https://mega.nz/#!CV4yCCYT!rFeIUBnG6Ahg ... 7L2_1tKKNg

The big change was that the stat formula had to be explicitly written out rather than condensed as was in the original. That was causing errors with matching Squirtles, and I assume would also have problems matching some mudkips. Both have the formula entered now.

The other change was a UI change, where I implemented the final ranges for Squirtle's stats. This meant that I had to make the radio buttons 6 wide to accomodate.

Otherwise, this should be all good to go now!

This might sound weird, but can you potentially make 10 attack possible for Mudkip? When I'm testing stuff for frames and get a -nature with less than 20IVs it means I have to open up RNG reporter atm when it's easier with this program.

Yeah I can do that. I left the Mudkip buttons alone originally because I assumed that they were complete. I'll have an updated version for that tonight.

Mudkip Predictor v5.1, with the updated Kip range, is there!

v5.2 now. I added functionality to also see the gender of the frame, to be sure that you have a match. Maybe in the future, it can be a radio button for selection... but for now, this'll do.

Not sure the Gender stuff is 100% accurate. I'm fairly confident that I've received Mudkips with a different gender to the one the program says. Is this a glitch or just due to RNG reporter being limited?

Might be wrong. I calculated it based on how Smogon says the PID gives gender, so I thought it was right...

Code: Select all

 public boolean getGender(){
    	// Get Gender for 12.5% female pokes
    	// true = female; male = false
    	return ((int)((this.pid >> 24) & 0xFF) <= 30) ? true : false;
    }

I don't think I've had a correct gender yet. Maybe it's the wrong way around?

It is. It'll be fixed when I get home tonight

Edit: and by wrong way around, I mean Dabomstew pointed out that I am checking the wrong byte. My code checks msb rather than lsb.

Edit 2:

Fixed it.
