Generation 3 Damage Calculator

Post by Vincento341 » Fri Oct 24, 2014 7:36 am

Hey guys, I was just trying to do some damage range scouting for emerald when I realised there is no 3rd gen calculator for damage. I had been using just a standard calculator, when I realised that soft sand bonus in gen 3 is 1.1x whereas in newer games it's 1.2x PJSalt. Does anyone have/know some calculator available for this either online or otherwise? Cheers ^^

RouteThree does damage calculations, and that's what I've been using.

It takes a bit of getting use to (I spent 3 days bugging dabomstew on how it works) so if you're struggling with it skype me or something :p

I have found a way around using the 6th gen calculators, although it's a little painful. I just substitute soft sand for wise glasses in the gen VI calculator haha. Still have to do badge boost addition manually though

one of the main problems with 6th gen calcs is the inaccuracy of crit calculations. obvi you could just do it yourself (substituting x1.5 for x2) but that sort of half defeats the purpose of using a calc.

the ADV option on this calc is perfectly accurate though.

of course you still have the issue of doing certain things manually like badge boosts, but you already have to manually alter most stats for the defending pokemon because while the stats for a lot of the defending pokes is known (at least for saf), their IVs are not, so you have to sort of monkey with the IVs to generate the correct stats for the given level.

I tried it before but that doesn't have all the moves, like water gun, mud shot, etc.

you can manually edit move power, e.g. mud shot = 55 power EQ, etc.
