It's known that the save corruption route for 0:00 finishes with 151 Pokedex so yeah, you literally just do that route and toss a different amount for warping to go to that room instead. The map ID for that is 130 (and index 0 is the closest warp which also happens to be the player's house in Pallet Town) so you should be able to avoid tossing by just getting an item with that quantity.

You'll want an item with quantity 130 in rival name, and 130 corresponds to "C", so a name "CC" for rival should be fastest. Then swap quantity 130 item directly into warping and you should be able to get fastest possible diploma.

(if we're talking TAS, you can do it faster with Trainer ID and skip naming rival Kappa )

that's awesome! turns out the magic number to toss is 56 for rival named blue. I didn't know rival name dictated that number, much appreciated

Rival name decides the 4 slots after money. It goes like this: The first character decides what item it will be, then the second decides the quantity of that item. Then the third character decides what the second item will be, and so on. You have 7 characters you can choose, which means you can decide what every item in the 4 slots will be and you can decide the quantity of 3 of them. The end of name marker has a value of 80, so if your rival has a name with 7 characters the last item in the rival name slots will have a quantity of 80. Of course, you are limited in the characters you can choose from, so you are also limited in the items and quantities you can get. You can find a list of these items and characters here: http://glitchcity.info/biglist.htm
