Re: Hard resets in runs and DMG mode on CGB games

I wanted to refrain from posting until some more concrete research had been prepared, but I feel like I should post now that it appears that the DMG mode issue is actually a significant timesave and not just a few frames here or there. I recorded 2 sample videos of DMG vs GBC for battles. They aren'...

Inverse Battles (suggested by and mostly made by gifvex):

Red
Blue

Same mechanics as Gen6 - resist and immunities both become weakness, weakness becomes resist, there are no immunities.

red with no OHKOs for racing without Horn Drill cheese

Re: What's new in saf

I have no idea of the exact routing for exp/levels but if you hit 38 before Xatu in the second run that could be it, if that isn't the case then ignore this post, I have no further clues.

Nope. We've already had several submissions from people outside of the team and being on the team is irrelevant as to whether your game will get in or not.

Re: RNG Manip For Fire Red / Leaf Green

Do also note that everything said in this topic http://forums.pokemonspeedruns.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=424 applies to FRLG as much as it does to Emerald. So you can check your Trainer ID when you start the game and plug that into a program to get clusters of Squirtles to aim for per run. The only di...

Re: Unique Emblems for Pokemon Speedruns

Very late update here, but now that speedrun.com has added this functionality to the theme editor for the series/games, I went ahead and added Master Ball through Poke Ball for positions 1-4 on the series. If you're a mod for a particular game in the series and want to change the icons for that game...

PSR Marathon 2015 - Date locked in & other info

Date confirmation As of the 1st of May, we can confirm that we will aim to hold the marathon over the weekend of 13-16 August (starting on Thursday the 13th or Friday the 14th and ending on Sunday the 16th, most likely). This has been agreed upon by the full committee and also represents a decent p...

PSR Marathon Game Submissions Discussion Thread

This is a thread where you can post questions and/or feedback regarding the recently announced opening of game submissions for the PSR Marathon 2015. After forming a marathon committee of Gymfreak739, Javi137, RXFadez, werster, Darcovian, Sinstar, Roush and myself at the beginning of this week, we’v...

PSR Marathon 2015 - Game Submissions Open [Now Closed]

After forming a marathon committee of Gymfreak739, Javi137, RXFadez, werster, Darcovian, Sinstar, Roush and myself at the beginning of this week, we’ve been able to come to some decisions regarding the format of the marathon which have allowed us to open up runner submissions to the marathon as of t...

Re: Forums updated to PHPBB 3.1

New posts: It's under Quick Links > New posts now. If it's really that important I could add separately as well though.

Mobile layout: I wasn't aware PHPBB 3.0 was even serving a mobile layout, seems like 3.1 is trying to do stuff which is a bit annoying. Will look into it a bit more.

Forums updated to PHPBB 3.1

I didn't think this was important enough to be published on the main news feed so posting it here will suffice. You can post in this thread if you have any issues with the changes made by the update.

I've just sent out a PM to all the people who were interested in joining the committee. If you're one of those people and you're reading this, check it out when you get a chance.

Looks good. Do you mind posting a link to the results spreadsheet so we can see what it comes out as? Obviously it can be made private or copied into a new document for the actual submission process when that happens.

Re: Potential PSR Marathon 2015 - Organization Thread #1

This is all very true. I guess I'm quite a cynical person, but I'm sure that everyone could generally agree on who's running what without trying to slip in bias. We should also try to get people who have perhaps worked on Marathon Strats rather than the WR holder. It's a lot different getting a goo...

Re: Potential PSR Marathon 2015 - Organization Thread #1

One new development and my opinion on the issues you guys have been discussing: Restreaming Last night I worked with abitalive (a former PSR forum admin) on coming up with a better solution for restreaming that doesn't rely on people with good internet being available to restream 24/7 during the mar...

Re: Potential PSR Marathon 2015 - Organization Thread #1

@Kylovic: I don't exactly recall what the exact format of the last marathon's form was, but a couple of points: Game entry should probably be freeform, not to allow non-Pokemon submissions but just in case we forget any games (TCG2 comes to mind, no matter how unlikely someone is to submit that we d...

Re: Potential PSR Marathon 2015 - Organization Thread #1

I'd be down for organizing and scheduling the event. Also, I'm down with dealing with a game submission form (although I assume one of the higher ups has that covered), and creating a spreadsheet for the games list + schedule once decided upon. For the dates, I think either July 11-12th (2 weeks be...

Potential PSR Marathon 2015 - Organization Thread #1

A lot of interest has been shown in attempting to hold another PSR marathon in the thread over here , so I felt like it was time to try to start organizing things for real. Right now a lot of things are still uncertain about the marathon, but I'm looking for signups/expression of interest for two di...

Re: Another Attempt at a PSR Marathon?

Yeah, as I said before I can be part of the organization committee (though I obviously can't volunteer to restream  ). I have some vague ideas of how stuff should work, along with taking some inspiration from the last failed attempt. It might be time to make a thread for people to express concr...

Re: Another Attempt at a PSR Marathon?

You generally have the person playing the game also stream the Teamspeak audio for this reason. If that isn't possible, whatever the case may be, you just accept having a short delay like that (it would just be Hitbox delay or whatever stream service you used for the raw game stream. Twitch is gener...

Re: Another Attempt at a PSR Marathon?

I'll answer just the things that I think are obvious in fadez' post and leave the rest open for discussion: But what would we do for cases where multiple people want to run the same game and the same category? Let's say three people want to run a single category and none of them know how to run any ...
