Re: Mudkip Stats

A bit late with the reply but here it is anyway. You can honestly take pretty much anything in ORAS, even 12 atk works but it's slow. When I did runs I reset for at least 13/10/9 and that was pretty much the benchmark I went with, 8 speed an work but you need to be well prepared for the problem area...

Either is fine as of now. An early decision would allow more chance that I can specifically plan to keep that date free however.

Re: Revisiting oobLG

I think looking back at what happened, CT and LG Fly etc would never have been allowed if we knew they would evolve into their current state. e.g. CT was initially almost entirely different each time and involved a bunch of complex and interesting setups for a lot of mons that couldn't be gotten qui...

I've had to unregister from the tourney for now, as somethings come up and I might be away that weekend. I'll resign up if I can make it.

Re: PSR Marathon 2016 - Another one?

I'm still in the same boat I was in last year that it shouldn't be a charity marathon, given how I think last years seemed to give a nice boost to the community's profile I don't see a reason to change anything.

Re: Poll: Revisiting Instant Text Ruling for Any% Glitchless

That aside, Most of the arguments so far have been about how it makes the bridge segment worse, but that's just the nature of going for faster times. Silph Rival Redbar, Yolo Lorelai, and many other super risky strategies have become a part of the Glitchless route in order to save time by adding ri...

Re: Clarity on criteria for determining official categories

Gonna note here that the barrier of entry for Challenge Mode is pretty high... You need White 2 and you need access to a second DS and a Black 2 cartridge with a beaten game. Don't forget the "internet that makes your stream not look like a rats arsehole" requirement, that's the one I'm missing.

Re: Alpha Sapphire Rerouting

Found a nice improvement today, if you X attack on the double battle in meteor falls the fight is much more consistent, since if grimer dies simultaneously with slugma (rather than after) Rival seems to 100% bring out grovyle, plus mightyena is almost always a 2 shot with Grovyle's help, then you ca...

Re: Better run to start with?

I think it depends on how competitive you want to be with speed running, if you just want to learn the catch em all run and be able to play through the route just fine, then NSC or straight learning the 151 route is fin, If you want to compete for the top times I'd suggest learning any% glitchless f...

Re: Double encounter rolls

I'm fairly certain turn frames and double encounter rolls can be summed up by the general rule that they only occur when you start moving from a stationary position, you never stop moving after an encounter/item pickup if the movement is buffered.

I'd suggest watching a video of a run before you attempt it, even for jut a fun casual run, that goes for pretty much any speedrun tbh.

Re: Alpha Sapphire Rerouting

My strat I was considering for Jose was either torrent water gun if I have the spatk to guaruntee the ranges (haven't checked yet), or If I would have to wait to pass him open the menu and teach rock tomb, otherwise just pass him. The 3rd repel is for using just before Rival 2, it just lasts from the...

Re: Alpha Sapphire Rerouting

Slight revision to my timing for the Route 123 Candy, now I practised the movement it turns out it only takes 20 seconds to get, that'd make it slightly more worthwhile to get it in all situations.

Alpha Sapphire Rerouting

So as soon as I saw that the Primal could be entirely skipped with Kyogre I knew Alpha Sapphire was always going to be the faster game in the end. This then gave me the idea to apply strats similar to what Garfield came up with for the AZ fight in XY into the final rival fight in AS. I had noticed t...

I'd be interested in being part of the committee since I probably don't have the internet to even submit a run for the marathon, but I'd love to help out in some way and at least actually see this go ahead this time around, hopefully we can make it happen because it would be a really fun event. Cert...

Re: Emerald 100%

Ok that makes a lot more sense, if you can get the Star/Badge on the trainer card with the Hoenn dex only then the run certainly seems possible. If someone did a run of it and was successful I'm sure it'd attract some attention.

Re: Emerald 100%

I'm not sure how you can refer to 100% at all in your post yet assume you can skip completing the Hoenn Dex, if you were to use the 100% title that would be 100% required, otherwise you'd have to find a different description for the category.
