I am applying for the position of moderator for FireRed/LeafGreen. I am qualified for this position because I've run any% for a few months, and have pre-existing experience of modding and running another gen 3 game.

Re: PSR Fantasy Speedrunning
Love the idea, though I feel some of the scoring is a bit harsh. For instance a third of the emerald glitchless times on the learerboard as of today don't even score a point. I like the idea of the tiered scoring system but maybe to draw newer runners in consider some lower times as well? This may o...

Re: Help with Timer for Mudkip
1) http://livesplit.github.io/, I think it automatically shows decimal places, but if not you can set it in the "Layout Options".
2) Doesn't matter, but you need to be on the new game selection when the timer hits zero.
3) Just have a save file loaded where you already had those options set.

Re: The RTA switch and GBA emulators
Jussi, you should be able to remove that issue by using monitor capture and just cropping to your emulator. Shouldn't require disabling aero, and as long as you don't cover the emu window with another window you can use other windows fine.

Re: Revisiting Timing Methods for Pokemon Speedruns (IGT vs RTA)
Personally don't think the "IGT is sometimes inaccurate in some games" point is as important as people are making it out to be here. Switching to RTA might help that issue, as it removes the inconsistency and potential abuse of IGT (though really this could only exist in gen3, on a very minor level)...

Re: Revisiting Timing Methods for Pokemon Speedruns (IGT vs RTA)
I think garf meant that yourself and werster's opinions can (and likely will) hold more sway amongst the community. People are likely to agree with someone who has; plenty of experience in certain games, experience in many of the games, or in werster's case both. Not that there is anything inherentl...

Re: Revisiting Timing Methods for Pokemon Speedruns (IGT vs RTA)
PokeHero, the major issue there is that that system would massively punish existing runs. For example: Gen 1: Last input is clearing the IGT screen before the credits, however many runners leave the IGT screen up because your IGT is set once it shows, clearing that last text box doesn't save any tim...

Re: Revisiting Timing Methods for Pokemon Speedruns (IGT vs RTA)
I'm highly for switching to RTA, for reasons I've already made in the discord (and others will likely make, in more coherent sentences). If we do come to switching to RTA, I'm more than happy to volunteer to help re-time the leaderboards. Fadez has made good points about potential new timings, which...

Re: Pokemon Speedrun Leaderboard Change Opinion Rant
Funny, I just had this discussion with some of the leaderboard mods the other day, stating basically the same thing as you tiger. As was pointed out to me, if people are willing to submit the time they want to, and the mods are willing to spend the time verifying it, how is that affecting anyone? Ye...

Re: Minor changes to Gen 2 rules on SRC
Second one makes a lot of sense, but that first one is irrelevant. Its worth putting that into routes/notes as its a big timesave, but its not a requirement of the speedrun or a rule, so doesn't really have any place in the rules, imo.

I'm interested in how you're defining "catch 'em all no restrictions" as having no restrictions. You're implicitly banning setting pokedex flags, I'm presuming? Otherwise its just any%-with-151-pokedex.

Echoing sinstar here, the earlier a decision is made the easier it will be for everyone to plan around it. Id slightly prefer the later date, but it really doesnt matter that much to me.

If there's no difference, they're fine.
Or at least, until anything is found, there's no decision to make. The games are normal official releases, speedruns on them are fine.

Re: New runner - Some questions
Not entirely true mccully, the chance of a can being a 2nd can depends on the number of cans. For instance, bottom-left, bottom-right, top-left, top-right and the two middle row "First Cans" all have 2 possible "Second Cans", either the one's that that picture point to, or top left. However the top-...

Re: PSR Marathon 2016 - Another one?
That's true, and I'm working on the presumption that he even wants to do a run, but that was really the only main example I could find. I don't think there's gonna be anyone that would be caught out by having it a week after ESA (and here's their chance to say so if they would)

Re: PSR Marathon 2016 - Another one?
Werster would be the biggest one to fit that bill, potentially. I know he's planning on going and its a hell of a distance from aussie land. Odds are it wouldn't take a week but is he going to want to jump into another marathon so soon?
