Re: Bike Shop Instant Text Discussion/Ruling

Is glitchless honestly meant to be "glitchless?" You guys do the clefairy doll to skip the casino, that could arguably be a glitch (and the JP community does indeed ban it). So what draws the line for what is and what doesn't get into "glitchless?" I honestly can't make a decision here but I figured...

Re: Need explanation

Yeah, when I made these nature lists, there were 2 conditions I had no choice but to overcome. Condition 1: How fast can it be purified? This is crucial to know as if you can't purify croc by the time you get to Agate, you really can't do the run since Feraligatr is necessary (to go fast). This mean...

Re: Need explanation

Aworax the rate at which the shadow gauge depletes is 100% based on nature. The specific nature will drop the shadow gauge differently depending on the actions taken, such as walking, calling, using cologne, etc. I did research on this and basically came up with a list of natures that I would accept...

Re: Leaderboard Disputes

Little late to this, but I've been working on AGDQ stuff / reading too many dang fics. Bottom line is that this current version of the dispute process did not really work as well as it was intended to, mostly since this was based off another system that doesn't necessarily require video proof for su...

Re: Can we have seperate leaderboards for Ruby?

Honestly, ruby is probably the most different of all other gens since difference in version isn't limited to certain pokemon being found. Ruby has different fights, completely different end game, and different movement in a part of the game (as mentioned by ace). Even though it's considered the "sis...

Re: More love to the Japanese versions

I've made it up to Mt. Battle in JP Colosseum with no issues since I already know English colosseum. For the most part, the games are exactly the same with language accommodating the region. However, some games have differences (I think gen 1?), so a strict "use english stuff for JP stuff" won't alw...

RomHack speed runs

Just out of curiosity, who all has attempted, or even completed a speed run of a pokemon romhack? I think this could be a great thing to keep track of as they present a new challenge and would be a fresh thing to see.

Re: Remove all emulated runs from leaderboards

I understand we're still waiting for MBM's response so we could all at least test the system...but he's literally not responding, even after being told there is a process going on. Another thing is that SRL has banned VBA-M, so how will that decision affect this community? Has this been transferred ...

Re: Remove all emulated runs from leaderboards

Can't the admins make a new board or thread with detailed updates being made to the site / communities of each game....like rulings? Right now, I'm being told there's changes / updates to the site, but we don't get to know when they start, only when they end. Doing so would at least end a lot of rep...

Re: Remove all emulated runs from leaderboards

Any runner could take advantage of savestate practice, but that muscle memory only benefits those who continue using emulator. Once you switch from emu to console, you'll see just how odd it becomes. Faster resets only benefits IMO if you use savestating resets, which, unless you're an idiot, is an ...

Re: Emulators that must be banned

Having one and only one acceptable emulator for gen 1 glitchess would make perfect sense, but do you really have to allow whatever emulators used for glitched to be used for glitchess too?

"Obvious TAS" are words you use that is WHY this push is even occurring. You want a recent example? Maybe check out Star's run. Re: Remove all emulated runs from leaderboards

Too lazy to quote, but basically Exarion, most of the top viewed streams are because they are entertaining, not because they're necessarily good at the game (I'm not gonna call out any names....but come on, each of you has someone in mind already). Like, the only bad thing about pokemon and is that ...

Re: Remove all emulated runs from leaderboards

You know, it's kinda funny how people act depending on what platform they run. If you run emu, you will be biased towards any attempt to make your platform invalid. Though, if you're console, you're literally set and have no reason to have to conform to new standards since you already got the valid ...

Re: Emulators that must be banned

Abitalive Proposed allowed emulators for GB/GBC: Gambatte: Open source, supports Windows/Mac OS/Linux, timing is identical to console as far as we're aware. Bizhawk: Open source, supports Windows/Mac OS, uses the Gambatte core but fixes a display bug in Red/Blue/Yellow making it slightly more accur...

Re: Emulators that must be banned

From Abitalive Is this really relevant though while we're using IGT? Is there any advantage to using SGB currently? This is a perfect example of a situational ban IMO. If the community uses IGT, then do we allow emulators that are only banned due to IGT inaccuracies, or do we extend that to RTA eve...

Emulators that must be banned

Ignore what was posted in other threads, this is something I believe the community has been fairly poor in addressing. I have looked at the list of emulators page and noticed only one emulator has been banned, and that is PJ64 2.0, which was globally banned due to its inability to run at a standard ...

Re: Pokemon Emerald In 2:42:31

ok I'm going to ask again, and more detail would be appreciated. 1. How did you local record the run. Basically, how did you get the .avi file for this. What size (in total) did it come out to. Also, why did you upload it into 2 parts when, as far as I know, you don't have anything limiting this fro...
