Re: Moving Forward With RTA: Timing Methods

For FRLG, starting at name entry is probably the way to go because of the Rng prediction. At first movement is likely, but it makes it harder for figuring out when to select Squirtle.

Re: Guessing IVs on Generation 3 early

It is. It'll be fixed when I get home tonight

Edit: and by wrong way around, I mean Dabomstew pointed out that I am checking the wrong byte. My code checks msb rather than lsb.

Edit 2:

Fixed it.

Re: Guessing IVs on Generation 3 early

Might be wrong. I calculated it based on how Smogon says the PID gives gender, so I thought it was right...

Code: Select all

 public boolean getGender(){
    	// Get Gender for 12.5% female pokes
    	// true = female; male = false
    	return ((int)((this.pid >> 24) & 0xFF) <= 30) ? true : false;
    }

Yeah I can do that. I left the Mudkip buttons alone originally because I assumed that they were complete. I'll have an updated version for that tonight.

I completely forgot to post this here.

This is my tutorial for the RNG "Manip" with the links for the tools inside it. It uses EonTimer for an audio cue rather than the visual method.

Re: Guessing IVs on Generation 3 early

So, I finally got around to fixing the Mudkip predictor, cause it bugged me that it didn't work. https://mega.nz/#!CV4yCCYT!rFeIUBnG6Ahgx132zVE4lFrF0v74QfTDD7L2_1tKKNg The big change was that the stat formula had to be explicitly written out rather than condensed as was in the original. That was cau...

Re: Improved Lorelei fight for any% and FRR2 Mewtwo%

Looks good. You can even sell Shock Wave in Any% (1500) to help get extra money. Any% Money at Celadon buy: 19134 + 10000 (Nugget) = 29134 available money 4000 = 8 Super Repel 8750 = 25 X Special 4750 = 5 X Accuracy 1400 = 2 Guard Spec 1750 = 5 X Speed (assuming 10 Speed at L5, need 7 otherwise?) 30...

Any% Glitchless Notes

Hey all. I've gone thorugh MEvRNG's notes and verified the damage ranges for the fights, and also verified the moves that need used. Nothing large changed from his original essay, aside from a few more moves having damage ranges. If you spot any typos, let me know, and I'll fix them. http://pastebin...

Re: Guessing IVs on Generation 3 early

Just checked new Squirtle functionality, and unfortunately there is already a problem... Squirtle's IV Ranges (with stats at neutral natures) are as follows: HP: 9 - (0-11); 10 - (11-31) Attack: 9 - (0-3); 10 - (4-23); 11 - (24-31) Defense: 11 - (0-9); 12 - (10-29); 13 - (30-31) Special Atk: 10 - (0...

Re: Guessing IVs on Generation 3 early

This all sounds good. Being able to consistently get runnable starters, and knowing the IVs will help immensely, and I will be keeping an eye out. EDIT: Did a quick test with Fire Red with RNG reporter. I went from power on to squirtle as I normally would (choosing girl, naming I and U, and hit fram...

Re: Pass spinners with 100% consistency

Why wouldn't it work with the TM case? I mean I'm not familiar with FR/LG but surely that qualifies as leaving the overworld? After thinking about it for a minute, the timer reset probably triggers on the action of entering the Pokemon menu or the bag menu. Going directly into the TM Case bypasses ...

Re: Pass spinners with 100% consistency

That's a great find! I'll be sure to implement it in my runs.

EDIT: Actually, I just had a thought and tested it: It only works with pause menu + pokemon/bag. It can't work for a registered bag menu (i.e., the tm case)

I must know when my time is as well. Because I work as a manager at a retail store, my hours are limited unless I can request the time off.
